Invitation suite for Katherine and Richard's farm wedding in eastern Virginia. The bride had a few design pointers in mind for me– she liked a particular shade of blue and requested borders as a decorative element on the print pieces. Katherine was great to work with and very open-minded for the experimental looks I presented her. She ultimately chose my favorite look, a floral engraving set behind framed-in invitation copy. It's funny to me now that I came to this solution being challenged to use borders, because I love it so much! Why haven't I tried this idea sooner? A white wax seal with the couple's initials finished off the invitation perfectly. Using the seal on the invitation rather than the envelope really freshened up this classic decorative detail.
The response and information cards mirrored the invites with matching double borders, and the outer envelope picked up the blue color with a liner. A belly band with a simple monogram and the wedding date held the piece together.
